CFD Consulting Engineer – GexCon US

GexCon US is an engineering consulting company whose offices are located in Bethesda, Maryland. GexCon US provides the following services:

  • Risk and Safety Studies using the industry-leading CFD software FLACS
  • Accident Investigation, Failure Analysis and Prevention
  • FLACS Software Sales and Support
  • R&D and Experimental Testing

GexCon US is seeking to strengthen our CFD consulting team. We are looking for a well qualified person with a MS or PhD degree and an established CFD background from academics and previous work, who has an analytical approach and good written and oral communication skills. The candidate should be prepared for travel. The goal is for the successful candidate to become an expert user of our software FLACS and to apply FLACS to consulting projects. Projects could include government contracts, litigation matters and risk studies.

The following skills are not required but will be considered a “plus”:

  • Experience with hazard consequence analysis, such as deflagration and explosion dynamics, explosion overpressure effects, unconfined vapor cloud explosions, BLEVEs, and flame radiation
  • Strong technical background in combustion and/or fire dynamics
  • Knowledge of Linux environment

The candidate must be a US citizen or have the necessary work permits.
