ACM presently requires Chemical-Process Engineers / Technologists to compliment a team of employees who are passionate about process safety, exhibit attention to detail and provide excellence in project delivery.


Our ideal candidate is a new graduate, current coop-student or early career Chemical/Process professional.  Progression in this role demands that you have strong presentation and leadership skills.  Although experience is not necessary, exposure to engineering, operations or maintenance in a plant environment would be an asset.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist Facilitator and Safety Lifecycle Leaders in planning and organizing Process Safety studies.
  • Review Process Safety information for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Assist in upgrading or modernizing of client safeguarding systems.
  • Assist with Safety and Risk training seminars and presentations.
  • Assist with Reliability and Availability analysis of Control and Safety Systems.
  • Study client P&ID’s and define process nodes for hazard analysis studies.
  • Assist in providing written reports to clients.
  • Develop ability to facilitate risk assessments.

Education and Qualification:

  • Engineering degree or 4th year Co-op Engineering student or Engineering Technologist diploma.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to work in an office environment and at remote sites.
  • Entrepreneurial aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written and oral), proactive, organized, self motivated.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Strong narrative writing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Adept at common software applications. (MS Office Suit).

Preferred Experience:

  • Engineering and or co-op experience in petrochemical, gas, pipeline, heavy oil, fertilizer, mining and utilities industries.
  • Facilitation experience, technical or non technical.
  • Team Leadership.
  • Engineering and design experience with control systems & programming (i.e. DCS, PLC, SIS).
  • Hands on experience with operations, maintenance and engineering functions at plant sites.
  • Participated or facilitated HAZOP, SIL Determination or Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies.
