On December 14 and 15, in Chennai, India, Dr. Sam Mannan and Dr. Hans Pasman presented a workshop titled “Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).” This marked the first time MKOPSC held this workshop in India. The workshop, hosted by Cholamandalam MS Risk Services, focused on all aspects of LOPA, including scenarios, risk tolerance criteria, causes and effects and methodology.
Cholamandalam MS Risk Services is a risk consulting company that concentrates on safety, health and the environment. The company has implemented more than 2000 successful safety projects and has been recognized for its achievements with many awards, including Asian Insurances Industry Award “Risk Manager of the Year” in 2007.
Following the course in Chennai, on December 16 and 17, Dr. Sam Mannan and Dr. Hans Pasman also will be teaching the two-day workshop “Global Concerns About Energy Security and Safety” in Mumbai, India. This workshop will discuss security challenges that the energy industry is facing, as well as safety issues. All of these topics will be discussed in an interactive format, giving attendees an opportunity to participate in the workshop. Dr. JP Gupta, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, has organized this workshop in conjunction with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
