The purpose of this position is to design and implement engineering programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all facilities are in full compliance with required OSHA Safety programs, Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA Risk Management programs, and other Federal, State and Local regulatory programs as required by law. Must have an in-depth knowledge of all elements of the OSHA/PSM standards including Audit Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Programs (RMP) in order to insure compliance.

  • Will assist facilities in the process of bringing their programs into full compliance, track deficiencies noted during facility audits, design & conduct annual training required by the PSM & RMP programs.
  • Will monitor facility PSM and RMP programs to identify high risk areas of non-compliance and interpret OSHA/EPA regulations and apply to everyday business in the areas of safety & compliance.
  • Will lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) including “What-If” and other methodologies analysis on covered processes.
  • will facilitate PSM culture change across the company as well as develop and maintain a high level of expertise in both Safety and Compliance domains and other duties as required.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a business related area, and 8 + years experience in the Regulatory Compliance or Safety field required. A current or former OSHA/PSM Inspector experience highly desired and experience with ammonia systems desirable and strong overall computer skills required, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project are required). Solid practical understanding of OSHA/PSM program and EPA RMP programs and experience with development and management of regulatory compliance and safety systems across multi-site locations desired. Strong organizational skills are mandatory with the ability to deploy programs company-wide. Project management skills required to keep projects on target as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization, solid decision making skills utilizing sound judgment. ISO 9001 / 18001 experience is a plus; Six Sigma Experience is a plus; Fluency in Spanish is a plus and MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL up to 75% of the time (International experience and ability to travel internationally is desirable).
