75th Annual Instrumentation Symposium

January 27, 2020

The 75th Annual Instrumentation Symposium for the Process Industries was held on January 26-28, 2020, at the Memorial Student Center (MSC) at Texas A&M University. The symposium was hosted by the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center and the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering. Keeping up with the latest technologies, engineering best practices, and regulations as they affect the instrumentation world continues to bring more than 250 professionals, students, and faculty together each year in January. This long-standing symposium provides a forum for technical presentations, workshops, networking, and exhibits offering the latest developments for the industry.
The Annual Instrumentation Symposium offers numerous panels and workshops to provide opportunities for knowledge exchange in real case applications. One example is the Instrument Reliability Network (IRN) session that shares historical information and lessons learned to improve the quality of instrument reliability data. The goal of IRN is to benchmark best practices for collecting, handling, analyzing, and sharing reliability information to describe the risks in industrial facilities accurately.
Each year, the symposium is arranged into current critical areas of instrumentation, including instrument reliability, safety instrumented systems, cybersecurity, and asset management. Presenters with distinct backgrounds and expertise are welcome to submit practical technical papers.
