New groundbreaking guide from united steel workers

August 24, 2022

The United Steelworkers (USW) Health, Safety and Environment Department recently published a comprehensive guide designed to help workers develop programs that support safely stopping unsafe or unhealthy operations and processes. The guide provides model stop work authority (SWA) collective bargaining language and checklists to help design the best SWA policies and procedures for industrial workplaces. Stop work authority is a mandatory subject of bargaining under the National Labor Relations Act.
