Research Topic

Risk-Informed Well Integrity Management for CO₂ Injection Wells

As global efforts toward decarbonization continue to expand, ensuring the safe deployment of carbon storage technologies has become increasingly important. This research focuses on the safety and integrity of CO₂ subsurface injection systems for carbon capture and storage (CCS) and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications. It investigates well integrity failure mechanisms under varying operational and site-specific conditions. The work integrates probabilistic risk assessment, Bayesian modeling, and inspection and maintenance optimization to support safer and more reliable carbon injection and long-term geological storage.
