Rafiziana Md. Kasmani

Rafiziana Md.Kasmani is a senior lecturer at the Department of Energy Engineering, School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She is the visiting scholar at MKOPSC for 5 month starting in August 2022.

The research focus during the visit is to establish the safety separation distances from the main facilities of a hydrogen fueling station to the protection facilities by examining the different approaches on safety distances adopted by the available regulations, codes and standards for hydrogen fuelling station worldwide. Different accident scenarios are assumed and their subsequent consequences are calculated, by performing the numerical analysis includes factors influencing the harm effect distances on people and third party. Ultimately, the information provided in this project is intended to harmonize the approaches adopted for codes and on permitting process for hydrogen fuelling station to ensure the uniformity of the safety requirement to obtain license to operate.
